Everlasting Love
The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”
JEREMIAH 31.3
Before anything material took shape or form, the love of God toward you was an eternal reality. The beauty of all the beaches, mountains, and forests of the world pales in comparison to the beauty of His everlasting love. All the stars and planets in their grandeur bow in the presence of the eternal love of God, the love that was set on you before there was a flicker of light in the universe.
His love for you has no beginning. His love has always existed within the shared love of the Trinity. Father, Son, and Spirit reveled in their plan to bring you into existence and into the circle of divine union they had forever known. You are not an afterthought in creation.
You have been drawn to God by divine intention and through divine passion. Never, never, never entertain the thought that He doesn’t care. The love He has for you will endure throughout eternity. Set aside shame about the past, guilt about the present, and worry about the future. Divine Love holds you tenderly in His arms and will never let you go, even for a moment.
