Angels

Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 1

He sends his angels like the winds, his servants like flames of fire. 2

The angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. 3 He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. 4

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realising it! 5

Jesus was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honour.” 6 Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honour next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority. 7

Don’t let anyone condemn you by insisting on the worship of angels, saying they have had visions about these things. 8 Angels are only servants – spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation. 9

Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. 10
