God is able to deliver us

The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials. 1

The LORD drove the Red Sea by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 2 The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the best of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians. 3

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the burning fiery furnace. 4 God sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him. 5 The fire had no power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads were not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. 6

Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths. Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. 7

Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand? 8

He who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions 9 is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think. 10

Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us. 11
