Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom 1 Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will show him the way he should choose. 2

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticising, and it will be given to him. 3 If you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God. 4

The wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favouritism and hypocrisy. 5

Wisdom will enter your mind, and knowledge will delight your heart. Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you, rescuing you from the way of evil, from those who enjoy doing evil and celebrate perversion. 6 Insight is a fountain of life for its possessor. 7 Happy is a man who finds wisdom. The wise will inherit honour. 8 Eat honey for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to your palate; realise that wisdom is the same for you. If you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will never fade. 9
