Is the Bible always right?

All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy. They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully.

Psalm 111.7-8

Parents may make mistakes when they help you with your homework. Teachers might have to say, “I don’t know” when you ask a question and power up an online encyclopaedia to find answers.

But there’s one source of information that is always available and always has the right answers, the Bible. In Proverbs 30.5 we read that “every word of God proves true.” Second Timothy 3.16 tells us that “all Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.” The Bible isn’t just a good book full of interesting stories. It’s a special book full of God’s perfect directions. You can count on the Bible to help you learn how to become friends with God and live the right way!

The Bible is like a big, sturdy trampoline. You can trust a trampoline to catch you no matter how high you jump. You can trust the Bible to be filled with solid truth from the Lord that will remain standing. It won’t change or fall apart, no matter what. It’s not a rickety old chair that break into pieces if you jump on it. You can always count on the Bible to have correct answers and help you do what’s right
